Need more help while you're in town? The Mount Baker Visitor Center in Maple Falls is a wonderful place to stop. It's located at 7509 Mt. Baker Hwy. Maple Falls WA, 98266 and is open daily from 10 AM to 4 PM. You'll find helpful staff, maps, brochures, a small gift shop and public Wifi. It's also a great place to purchase the recreation passes needed to park in the Mount Baker Wilderness area.

Taylor and Pat make their pilgrimage to Chair 9 several times a year to get their fix of delicious oven-baked nachos and pizza. The restaurant is a community staple in the small mountain town of Glacier. It's the last restaurant on Mount Baker Highway before the road enters the wilderness area, and it's almost always the couple's first stop after returning from a long hike. While there's no cell service in this area, Chair 9 does have WiFi so it's also a good place to go if you need to check your messages or make a call.

"We've enjoyed a lot of fun nights at the bar, chatting with the locals and listening to music. But I mostly come here for the nachos."

“I love the vibe of this spot. You feel like a local here, and I mean that in the best way possible. Don't sleep on the Mt. Ruth pizza. The smoked salmon and pesto combo is good!"

This coffee shop and bakery is a gem in downtown Glacier. They have delicious baked goods, breakfast burritos, quiches and breakfast sandwiches. It has a cute outdoor seating area, which fills up quickly on a sunny weekend.

Rifugio's Country Italian Cuisine is an intimate, rustic roadside gem offering farm-to-table Italian-inspired dining. This restaurant is only open Friday through Sunday, and they accept reservations online.
Things To Do


Nooksack Falls is a great, quick pull-off earlier in the drive.
You can also catch glimpses of the Nooksack River along the way — from the highway, campgrounds and trails. Keep an eye out for bald eagles and salmon.
IMPORTANT: Pick up a Northwest Forest Pass ($5 a day or $30 a year) if you plan to stop along the drive. You'll need the pass to park in the Heather Meadows area.
The wedding venue sits right off Mount Baker Highway, one of several spectacular scenic drives in Whatcom County.
Head east and within less than an hour you'll reach Artist Point, one of the most beautiful alpine vistas in North America. It's Taylor and Pat's favorite place to soak in panoramic views without any effort, as the parking lot alone will take your breath away. It sits in an area called Heather Meadows, where several other stops are clustered together, including Picture Lake, the Fire and Ice Trail and the Heather Meadows Visitor Center.

This drive is the gateway to many of our favorite hiking trails but it's also my favorite place to go to find accessible and scenic spots to hang when I don't feel like breaking a sweat."

Whether you're staying at the wedding venue or not, Taylor and Pat welcome you to stop by and enjoy the 133-acre property at your leisure on Aug. 31, the day after the wedding.
COFFEE & YOGA: In the morning, feel free to swing by Camp Saturna for coffee and an optional lakeside yoga class.
CHALLENGE COURSE: For those who love a little friendly competition, there's an outdoor challenge course on the east side of the property that you're welcome to use.
COOK OUT: Guests are welcome to use the various outdoor grills and picnic areas around the east side of the property.
EXPLORE: There are several forested trails around the property.
