From college classmates to best friends, Taylor and Pat's 12-year journey together has been anything but ordinary.
A FaceTime Romance
They met in 2013 at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio, where they both studied journalism. They would run into each other on campus — at WOUB Public Media, where they both worked, and at the many bars on OU's famous Court Street. Their romance didn't begin until after college.
For the first 7 years, Taylor and Pat were in a long-distance relationship. As much as they wanted to be in the same city, their career paths in journalism kept them apart. First, they dated while living in Cincinnati (Taylor) and Zanesville (Pat). Later, they moved on to Seattle (Taylor) and Cleveland (Pat).
Of course, the distance was hard. But thanks to FaceTime, they developed a connection so deep that they never questioned staying together. In between epic in-person reunions, they found creative ways to have "normal" moments as a couple. They synced up TV shows and watched them while on FaceTime. They planned virtual cooking nights. And most nights, they fell asleep with the phone still on. One of the added perks is they gained great communication skills as a couple. 😂
In May 2021, Pat FINALLY made the big move to join Taylor in Seattle. They've loved every moment together exploring this beautiful state with their two spoiled and very cool adventure dogs, Charlie and Dylan.
