Camp Saturna

Maple Falls, WA 98266

Taylor and Pat's wedding venue, Camp Saturna, sits on the north end of Silver Lake in Maple Falls, Washington.
Located in the foothills of the North Cascades, it is roughly 2.5 hours from Seattle, 50 minutes from Bellingham and just 20 minutes from the Canadian border. Whether you're drawn to saltwater or summits, both are within an hour's drive of the venue.
The venue is just north of Mount Baker Highway (SR 542), a 58-mile route that begins in Bellingham and ends at Artist Point, a scenic alpine vista near Mount Baker and Mount Shuksan with access to many of Taylor and Pat's favorite hiking trails.
Camp Saturna is in a rural area with limited cell service and rideshare services are not available. Guests will need a car to reach the wedding venue. Scroll down for recommendations on air travel, rental cars and lodging.

Airports & Rental Cars
Pro Tip: As you search for the best travel deals, the couple encourages you to check out Alaska Airlines. The airline's largest hub is based in Seattle, and you can often find direct flights at affordable prices. Using a flight comparison tool can help you review costs across airlines.
Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA)
Distance to Venue: Approx. 2.5 hours
If you fly into Seattle's airport, you'll likely find more direct flights from your hometown than at other airports in the region.
Rental Cars: Guests will need a car to reach the venue. The Seattle airport's rental car center is accessible via free shuttle and features 12 rental companies.
Bellingham International Airport (BLI)
Distance to Venue: Approx. 50 minutes
Bellingham’s airport is the closest to the venue. Most guests traveling from outside the West Coast will find limited nonstop options and may need to connect through Seattle–Tacoma International Airport (SEA).
Rental Cars: Guests will need a car to reach the venue. Several major rental car companies operate at the Bellingham airport.
Paine Field (PAE)
Distance to Venue: Approx. 1 hour and 45 minutes
Like Bellingham, this Everett-based airport has limited nonstop flight options for guests traveling from outside the West Coast. Most out-of-region travelers will connect through SEA.
Rental Cars: Five rental car companies operate at Paine Field.
Vancouver International Airport (YVR)
Distance to Venue: Approx. 1.5 hours + border crossing time
Vancouver is the second closest airport to the venue. If you choose this option, you'll need to bring your passport and prepare for an international border crossing.
Rental Cars: Eight rental car companies are located steps from the terminal. If renting a car in Vancouver to drive across the border, confirm with your rental company in advance that cross-border travel is permitted.

Gas Stations & Grocery
If you plan to explore the Mount Baker area during your trip, be sure to fill up at one of the gas stations between Bellingham and Maple Falls. There are no gas stations past Maple Falls on Mount Baker Highway (SR 542). Gas stations in the state's rural communities often have limited business hours so plan accordingly.

You'll find small convenience-style grocery stores and mini-marts in Deming, Maple Falls, and Glacier. For a fuller shopping trip, Pat and Taylor recommend stocking up in Bellingham, the closest major city to the venue, where you'll find larger grocery stores and shopping centers.
